These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Sober Days mobile app and the soberdaysapp.com website ("the app", "we", "us"). By using Sober Days, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who can use Sober Days
Sober Days relates to alcohol and is intended for adults. You may use it only if you are old enough to do so under the laws of your country, and you are responsible for using it in line with those laws.
Sober Days is support, not medical advice
This is the most important section, so please read it.
Sober Days is a self-help and tracking tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical, psychological, or addiction-treatment advice. Nothing in the app is a substitute for care from a qualified doctor, therapist, or support service.
Stopping or reducing alcohol can, in some cases, carry serious health risks. If you drink heavily or daily, talk to a healthcare professional before making changes. If you are in crisis, feel unsafe, or are experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services or a professional helpline right away. Sober Days cannot help in an emergency.
You use the app to support your own decisions, and you remain responsible for those decisions.
Your licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Sober Days on devices you own or control, for your own personal use. You agree not to copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or tamper with the app except where the law expressly allows it.
Subscriptions and payments
The core of Sober Days is free to use. We may also offer an optional paid subscription ("Premium") with additional features.
- Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, under your store account.
- If a free trial is offered, it automatically converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings, not inside the app.
- Refunds, where available, are handled by the store under its own policy.
Prices may change; any change applies only to future billing periods and, where required, only after notice.
Acceptable use
Please use Sober Days as intended: as a private companion for your own journey. Do not use it for any unlawful purpose, and do not attempt to disrupt or misuse the app or the website.
Intellectual property
The app, the website, and their content - including text, design, and graphics - belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. The content you create in the app (your check-ins, journal, and so on) belongs to you; it stays on your device, and these Terms do not give us any claim over it.
No warranty
Sober Days is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular result for your sobriety or health.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, Sober Days. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here removes or reduces the consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of the country where you live.
Changes
We may update the app and these Terms from time to time. When we change these Terms, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
Sober Days is available in many countries. These Terms are governed by applicable law, and you keep the mandatory rights granted to consumers in your country of residence. Where local law gives you stronger protection than these Terms, that local law applies.
